A hand-colored etching depicting a scenic view of riverside buildings and houses in classic European architectural style—characteristic of the city of Dordrecht—viewed from the village of Zwijndrecht in the Netherlands.

The work is by Jean Benoit Winkler, a prominent engraver and printmaker known for documenting landscapes and cityscapes across Europe during the 18th century. Using the copperplate etching technique and hand-coloring, Winkler’s works continue to attract interest from collectors and art historians to this day.
