"SIAM, THE LAND OF THE WHITE ELEPHANT, AS IT IS AND WAS" is a work related to the country of Siam during the late 4th reign and the early 5th reign of the Chakri Dynasty. It was compiled by Bayard Taylor, an American writer and traveler.

Bayard Taylor journeyed to Siam in the year 1853, collecting various stories about the country from the perspective of westerners. The content of the book is divided into 22 chapters, covering topics such as geography, the historical background of Siam, the life of Constantine Phaulkon, the lives of the people of Siam, and details about the royal dynasty, especially the reign of King Rama IV.

The book also includes the journey of H.M. King Rama IV to Bann Wah Kor with Sir Harry Ord, the Governor of the Straits Settlements, foreign scientists, and ambassadors for total solar eclipse observation on August 18, 1868. The exploration of Siam and Indo-China by Alexandre Henri Mouhot, a famous French naturalist and explorer, along with the natural resources of the country and the activities of foreign missionaries in Siam.

This hardcover book, measuring 13.5 x 19 cm and consisting of 347 pages, includes 32 copper engraving illustrations. It was published by Charles Scribner's Sons, New York, in the year 1881.
