The ancient book Histoire Générale des Voyages (General History of Voyages) from France, Volume 33, contains a record of the journey to the East Indian Archipelago, including Siam, India, Indonesia, and Burma, made by a group of French travelers between the years 1668 and 1685. It was compiled by the Reverend Antoine François Prévost, a French writer and priest.
For Siam, the book references the travels of Alexandre, Chevalier de Chaumont, Abbé de Choisy and Guy Tachard, who were part of the diplomatic mission sent by King Louis XIV to Siam during the reign of King Narai the Great.
The hardcover book (rebound) is in French and measures 12 x 19 cm, with 480 pages. It contains 8 copperplate engraving prints, including important images such as a map of Siam, Temple of the Holy, Splendid Omniscient" (Wat Phra Sri Sanpeth) in Ayudha and a map of the city of Lavou or Lopburi, both of which are highly sought after by collectors of old documents. The book was published in Paris in 1751, making it 274 years old. The condition of the interior pages, maps, and prints is still good. It is being sold as-is, in the condition shown in the pictures.
