ภาพปกหลังหนังสือพิมพ์ Le Petit Journal ของฝรั่งเศส ฉบับวันที่ 29/7/1893 เป็นภาพการเดินทัพของประเทศสยาม ในปี ค.ศ. 1893 ซึ่งเป็นช่วงเกิดกรณีพิพาท ระหว่างสยาม และฝรั่งเศส หรือที่เรียกกันว่าวิกฤติการณ์ รศ 112 โดยเนื้อหาของข่าวอธิบายถึงกองกำลังทางทหารรักษาพระองค์ของพระเจ้าแผ่นดินสยาม ผู้บังคับบัญชากองทัพบก และกองทัพเรือ รวมจำนวนพลและอาวุธ

หน้าปกเป็นภาพนายพลเรือ Humann ผู้บัญชาการทหารเรือฝรั่งเศสภาคพื้นอินโดจีนและตะวันออกไกล นายพลผู้นี้เป็นผู้สั่งการให้นำเรือรบฝรั่งเศส 3 ลำ มาปิดปากอ่าวไทย จนทำให้เกิดการต่อสู้กันขึ้น จนนำไปสู่การเสียดินแดนให้ฝรั่งเศสในเวลาต่อมา

The back cover of the French newspaper Le Petit Journal, dated 29/7/1893, features an image of a Siamese military procession in the year 1893. This was during the period of conflict between Siam and France, also known as the Franco-Siamese crisis of 1893 (Rattanakosin Era 112). The news content describes the royal guard of the King of Siam, the commanders of the army and navy, and the total number of troops and weapons.

The front cover shows an image of Admiral Humann, the commander of the French navy in Indochina and the Far East. This was the admiral who ordered three French warships to blockade the Gulf of Thailand, which led to a battle and subsequently the loss of territory to France.
