ในปี ค.ศ. 1795 Sir John Shore ในฐานะผู้สำเร็จราชการอังกฤษในอินเดีย ได้ส่งกองทหารภายใต้การบังคับบัญชาของพันโท Symes ไปปฏิบัติหน้าที่ เพื่อปกป้องผลประโยชน์ของชาวอังกฤษในพม่า ซึ่งเป็นช่วงรัชสมัยของพระเจ้าปดุง (King Bodawpaya) แห่งราชวงศ์ Konbaung พันโท Symes เขียนหนังสือเล่มนี้ ระหว่างที่เขาพักอาศัย และปฏิบัติหน้าที่สำคัญในประเทศพม่า หนังสือชุดนี้มีสองเล่ม คือ Vol I และ Vol II เนื้อหาในเล่มเป็นเรื่องราวเกี่ยวกับการปฏิบัติการทางทหาร และการเมืองของประเทศอังกฤษในพม่า ตั้งแต่ปี ค.ศ. 1795 จนถึงวันที่หน่วยทหารของเขาเดินทางกลับอินเดียในปี ค.ศ. 1803

Bell จำนวน 84 หน้า

The book An Account of an Embassy to the Kingdom of Ava was compiled and edited by Lieutenant Colonel Michael Symes, an Irish military officer, diplomat, and politician.

In 1795, Sir John Shore, serving as Governor-General of British India, dispatched a military expedition under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Symes to protect British interests in Burma during the reign of King Bodawpaya of the Konbaung Dynasty. Symes wrote this book during his residence for important duties in Burma. The collection consists of two volumes, Vol. I and Vol. II. The content recounts British military and political operations in Burma from 1795 until Symes' unit returned to India in 1803.

This specific volume is the second, approximately 233 pages, and divided into ten sections. It covers topics such as the grandeur of the Burmese Empire, succession to the throne, the author’s adventurous travels to various locations in Burma, religion, and military organization.
