แผนที่กรุงละแวก หรือ ราชธานีของกัมพูชาในอดีต เป็นเมืองศูนย์กลางการปกครองของอาณาจักรเขมร ปัจจุบันคือ จังหวัดกำปงชนัม โดยตั้งแต่ ค.ศ. 1553 - 1593 ตรงกับช่วงประมาณสงครามคราวเสียกรุงศรีอยุธยาครั้งที่หนึ่ง เป็นยุคสมัยที่อาณาจักรเขมรรุ่งเรืองขึ้นเป็นครั้งแรกหลังจากประสบกับความเสื่อมโทรมมาอย่างต่อเนื่องเป็นเวลาสองร้อยกว่าปี โดยกัมพูชาในสมัยนั้นมีการติดต่อค้าขายกับชาวต่างชาติ โดยเฉพาะกับสเปน ประกอบกับการที่ศัตรูสำคัญอย่างอาณาจักรอยุธยากำลังอ่อนแอด้วยการรุกรานของพม่า ทำให้กัมพูชาสามารถขึ้นมาเป็นฝ่ายรุกได้ แต่ก็เป็นช่วงเวลาอันสั้นเท่านั้น เพราะกรุงละแวกได้ถูกเผาทำลายลงอย่างรวดเร็วด้วยการรุกรานของทัพสยาม ในรัชสมัยสมเด็จพระนเรศวรมหาราช ในปี ค.ศ. 1593

แผนที่ฉบับนี้ เป็นแผนที่ขนาดเล็ก จากหนังสือ Histoire Générale des Voyages โดย Jacques-Nicolas Bellin นักทำแผนที่ชาวฝรั่งเศส เมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1761 มาพร้อมกรอบขนาด 30 x 28 ซม (เฉพาะแผนที่ขนาด 13 x 11 ซม)

The ancient map of the capital of Cambodia in the past. It was the administrative center of the Khmer Empire, currently Kampong Chanam Province, from 1553 - 1593, corresponding to the period of the first Ayutthaya War. This is a small sized copper plate engraving map made by Jacques-Nicolas Bellin, a French cartographer in 1761. The map comes with a matching frame size 30x28 cm (map size is 13 x 11 cm)
