La Sculpture Khmere Ancienne was compiled by George Groslier, a French scholar who studied, lectured, popularized, and worked to preserve the art, culture, and history of the Khmer Empire, with his work as a painter, writer, historian, archaeologist, ethnographer, architect, photographer and curator.
This book is considered a document describing the general characteristics of Khmer sculpture, religion, and symbolism of a variety of sculptures, statues, Buddha statues, the evolution of figures bas-relief Ancient Khmer sculptures, bronze art, and the geographical distribution of Khmer sculptures. as well as views of Khmer temples and architectural ensembles.
